We were from out of town and needed to mail two packages before noon on Saturday 2/20/2020 and stopped at this small post office in Elkton. My wife took the packages in and asked for a flat rate box to ship a pair of boots in. The individual was very rude to her and said “ I don’t have a box that big” but if you look at the post office website it says there is a 14x12x3 1/2” flat rate box. She then asked for a label to ship it in a box that we had and he rudely points down below the counter for the label. She was very upset with this mans attitude, very unprofessional to say the least. I was going to go have a conversation with this individual but wife was worried that he may accidentally/on purpose misplace our packages. Now I look at tracking and one package left the facility and is in route, the other package with the boots has tracking provided but when you try to track it, it says label created but not in the system. How can it not be in the system when it’s at the post office?? The postal system is really getting horrible with service for the customers. I know he is a federal employee and takes dang near an act of Congress to fire a federal employee since I used to be one in the military and am retired. Steps need to be taken and start writing cancerous workers up and get rid of them. They don’t belong in a customer service job. By the reviews I see this is not the first time with attitudes at this location and probably won’t be the last unless someone (Supervisor) takes action. It should be hard for a supervisor to find out who was working at 10:18 on 02/20/2020.
