If you are looking for a functioning post office where rules are followed and customers are treated with basic dignity, do not come to the Gahanna location. My experience here has gone beyond simple "bad service" to a case study in mismanagement and employee misconduct. Specifically, a clerk named Sherry (light-skinned lady) has established a pattern of behavior that is shocking for a federal service. Over the last few months, I have witnessed and documented her falsifying and manipulating company data, verbally abusing customers, and repeatedly refusing service simply because she "felt uncomfortable" being held accountable for her actions. I have witnessed Sherry handing out stamps without taking payment and, on one occasion, allowing her non-employee adult daughter into the restricted back area of the facility unsupervised for nearly 20 minutes; a massive security violation involving federal property and mail. In most businesses, this would result in immediate termination. Here, management is completely aware and enables it. After reporting these incidents to multiple supervisors, the Postmaster, and the Executive Postmaster in charge of the entire city of Columbus and surrounding areas and receiving apologies and promises of "administrative action," the final "solution" provided by management was effectively to tell me to leave. Their official advice? "It would be best to go to another location." Reading through other reviews, I see I am not alone. There is a clear, documented history of customers facing rudeness, arbitrary refusals of service, and long waits at this branch, often centering on the same personnel. It is clear that the management here is either unwilling or unable to manage their staff. They would rather inconvenience the public and turn away business than expect their employees to simply do the job they are paid to do. You have two options: 1.Save yourself the frustration and the abuse. Take their advice and go to literally any other post office. 2.If you must use this location or read the reviews after visiting and experience similar misconduct, bypass local management entirely. Document your experience and file a formal complaint directly with USPS Consumer Affairs and/or the USPS Office of the Inspector General (USPS OIG). Local management will not help you or protect the integrity of the mail, so it is up to us as customers to hold them accountable at the federal level. Search for "How to file a U.S. Postal Service complaint" and click on the official government website for information on which complaint to file and how to proceed.

We were walk ins for passports for four kids and both of the women working today did a fantastic job with us and helping the rest of the line move through their needs at the same time. We tried to come prepared but needed copies we didn’t have and Sherry helped us with that as well. Excellent service!

It's a joke. Parking is insufficient, yet the lease keeps getting renewed. Why? Last visit, the single staff member, had to take a mandated break (Union), when the line was queued with 6 people. We need to privatize the US postal service so that it provides decent service like Amazon.

I am not one to leave reviews very often and I feel a little bad doing so now. Nearly every time we have gone into the post office, the office staff have been exceptionally rude to us or those seeking assistance in front of us. We avoid this post office as much as possible, but this treatment of customers by a federal agency seems unacceptable. I have never had a bad experience at any other post office, making this stand out even more.
