- AAAlyssa AllgaierOct 14, 20251.0The woman who does the passports was aggressive and rude when I simply asked if I could make an appointment to get a passport for my baby. I heard her loudly telling the man helping me that it was past 2pm and no passports are being done. She didn’t want to be bothered, not sure why she was so upset with someone asking for a service. She actually came out from the back to interrupt the other employee who was nicely helping me when he said I could book an appointment for Saturday (that’s the only day my husband is off). She interrupted him and told me to go to riverhead because she wasn’t going to be stuck there waiting all day to do an passport for us and rudely and sarcastically told me have a nice day on my way out. Not sure why she couldn’t just be a nice person and do it right then, it wasn’t busy in there.

Unfortunately I am leaving this review of the Yaphank Postal Service but the issue that my family had was mainly with one miserable old woman who I assume was the supervisor. We went in for passport appointments. She had no idea what she was doing. Said I needed a marriage certificate which my application did not require. Said my husbands birth certificate was too old.(He’s 52 so it’s 52 years old) She had no idea what she was talking about and she was nasty to boot. Would not let my daughter run her drivers license back in, said she needed to reschedule her appointment. But at the same time was helping another couple get passports who hadn’t had an appointment scheduled at all. She was rude, nasty, and deserves nothing but a demotion. We were helped at the Shirley Post Office immediately after we left Yaphank… without appointment. A word of advice, if you need a passport, avoid the Yaphank Post Office at all costs.
- LPLaura PetersJul 11, 20231.0The postmaster told my neighbor they could move my mailbox. I do not want to move it and put it back. Neighbor then ripped it out and put on my lawn. Postmaster told me she could hold my mail until I get resolution but not her job. I called post office inspection services. They said postmaster was wrong and didn't understand her job. They are working with police to resolve issue. Do not let neighbors intimate you.
