  I had an outstanding experience with Postmaster Joe Mathew at WEST HAVERSTRAW Post Office. Mr. Mathew truly went above and beyond his duties. I feel honored to have the most amazing postmaster and staff at West Haverstraw Post Office. Not only did he handle my inquiry with efficiency, but he also took the time to address all my concerns and provided helpful advice that I will take into consideration for the future. His exceptional customer service made the experience stress-free and enjoyable. I highly commend his dedication and professionalism. I also commend his staff that assisted him in helping me. God bless you all.

  Worst experience customer service and person to person contact. I tried to call corporate but no luck so here goes. The slender Indian(middle eastern)gentleman with the short black hair is the rudest nastiest person I have ever encountered. It was 4:55 five minutes till closing I know this because he kept screaming it over the counter. The last couple customers were all women I was next in line. The man was nothing short of cold and uninviting. Being that I normally do not go to the post office I was unsure of what envelope I needed for next day air. The gentleman told me come back tomorrow, since I didn’t have my stuff ready and then proceeded to call the next guest. I asked him isn’t it as simple as a envelope change can you please just help me. The gentleman began to argue with me and tell me come back tomorrow because his register needs to be counted and he needs to leave at 5 o’clock on the dot. I mentioned to him there are two other people behind me. Are you going to send them away to. He didn’t answer me. He just yelled over the counter. You guys need to leave I’m close, the truck is outside and it is going to leave. If I do not count my drawer. The situation became a bit rowdy because the people behind me begin to argue that they made it before five. To make a long story short, I left the establishment in tears. I cannot believe this was my experience. I also cannot believe that this person was customer facing. I live in this community and that is my post office but I will NEVER return there as long as that man works there.

  Postmaster Joe was very helpful helping to rectify an address issue with the old tenants of my home. He was knowledgeable, patient, but also quick in helping my mail get delivered correctly. Thank you!
