The Rensselaer Falls Post Office repeatedly claims Saturday availability that simply isn’t accurate. Hours and services are listed as open, yet when customers arrive, the office is closed or unavailable with no notice or explanation. This is extremely frustrating, especially for people who plan their schedules around the posted hours.
On top of that, the customer service from one of the representatives is unacceptable—dismissive, unhelpful, and unwilling to take accountability for the misinformation. This is not the level of service expected from a federal service provider. Management seriously needs to review staffing and take corrective action, including retraining or replacing representatives who cannot provide basic professionalism or accurate information.

Extremely frustrating experience at the Rensselaer Falls Post Office. The clerk is consistently rude and unwelcoming, which makes every visit unpleasant. The hours of operation are some of the worst I’ve ever seen — closing at 12 PM makes it nearly impossible for anyone with a normal work schedule to pick up packages.
What’s even more frustrating is that if you arrive even a few minutes past closing, they absolutely refuse to help you, even when there is clearly someone still inside working in the back. It feels unnecessarily rigid and dismissive, with no consideration for customers at all. This location seriously needs improvement in both customer service and accessibility.

I’ve had ongoing problems with this USPS location, and this experience was the final straw. Their hours are 8:00 AM–12:00 PM, which is extremely inconvenient for anyone who works standard business hours.
On February 2, 2026, I went to pick up a package that had just been delivered. There was already a slip in my PO Box instructing me to pick it up. When I asked for the package, the employee refused to give it to me solely because it was after 12:00 PM, despite the fact that she was still present in the building and working in the back. The package could have easily been handed to me, but instead I was turned away.
This location has had multiple delivery issues, along with unprofessional staff behavior, poor customer service, and what appears to be insufficient staffing. The lack of flexibility or basic courtesy makes it unnecessarily difficult to receive mail here.
USPS is an essential service, and situations like this make it frustrating and unreliable. I hope management addresses the staffing issues, customer service standards, and limited hours.
