First employee was condescending turning me away to go label my package. Not one working pen in the store. Second employee was equally rude. I've had good experiences at other post offices, avoiding this one from now on.

Great location that was easy to find. Needed to mail something and it was the closest to the hotel we were staying at. I think it’s under construction on the outside but not sure as I don’t live there. The office was very spacious and clean. The items were stocked with many options to mail packages. The lady that helped me was very kind and attentive.

On July 8, 2025, at approximately 2:50 PM, I was physically assaulted by an employee at the United States Postal Service located at 223 W 38th St, New York, NY 10018. The incident occurred while I was at the counter attempting to get my passport renewed. I had a passport appointment at 1:15pm at this location. After finishing the identification verification process, I got the documents in an envelope and left the facility around 2:20pm. Shortly after I received a call from USPS at 2:30pm, asking me to return back. I was already at work and missed a lot of my workday at this point. I asked why but she didn’t answer but said just come back. I came back to USPS again. Waiting in line, I was scanning my documents as I always do for all my important documents. The assailant screamed something through the window. She said to give her back my application. After I asked why she needed my documents back, the worker did not respond. Next thing she barged out of the door and grabbed my arms, pushed me, and ripped my passport documents, damaging them by completely ripping them apart into pieces. She said “Now you can have your documents back. You will never get your passport!” The assailant, who appeared to be a USPS employee, Black female, age approximately around mid 40s, 5’3”, around 140lbs wearing blue USPS uniform, name tag hidden and won’t disclose her identity, grabbed both of my arms forcefully and pushed me to take and rip apart my passport documents. This physical contact was unprovoked and caused me extreme emotional trauma, fear and distress causing bruising and pain on my arms and fingers. I did not consent to being touched or pushed. Immediately after the incident, I called the New York City Police Department at 2:53PM to report the assault. There were about 30 witnesses present during the incident as there is a 360 degree surveillance camera onsite.

Lady with the glasses at around 1:10pm was extremely rude. I had my package ready to go with the label on and waited in line for over 10 minute. As soon as I got to her window she said i had to use the self service machine. Horrible customer service!!
