This must be a bad assignment because the clerks here are uniformly rude and unaccomodating. Go here only if you're planning on using the slot in the wall, which you'll find has better manners.

I have been a customer since 2013! The staff are very professional and they value you as a person not just as a customer. There has been changes in staff throughout the years, but I've never had any type of problems at all with any of them! Very happy to patronize here!

The supervisor at this location….my goodness. I will save my personal judgements and just state the facts so that others are aware of the proper practice if ever in my situation. I arrived at this location the day after I bought a money order which I needed reissued due to me writing the incorrect recipient. I came prepared with the money order, the stub, and the register receipt from the day before. The clerk at the window informed me that it is against their policy to accept money orders from any other post office (in this case, a location down the block) and that money orders needed to be returned on the same day, to the same location, and to the same clerk that they were purchased at. The only thing she could do is cash the money order if I gave her two forms of ID. This is NOT true. The issue with her response is that it goes against the policy listed on their website which I checked before coming in. Since the employee was scrolling on her phone when I arrived to her window, I asked her to just check the website so that she could see that what she’s telling me, doesn’t match the policy on the USPS website. She flat out said, “No I’m not doing that. I’m telling you that we don’t reissue money orders, we can only cash it. This is how it’s done.” She told me that she she’s never heard of what I’m talking about and that she’s been there since 2014. Since my money order wasn’t “spoiled/damaged” she couldn’t use the option on my money order. Since I wrote in the recipient information incorrectly my money order is not considered damaged or spoiled so she can’t reissue a replacement money order. She then loudly called over to her colleague who co-signed her responses. When I asked if I could explain this to a supervisor, she told me that she is the supervisor. I asked if her supervisor was there? Nope. She told me to go the the 18th St branch if I wanted to talk to another supervisor. It’s just about 90 degrees, but okay. Thank you for your service. I went to the 18th St branch. The issue was resolved after speaking to another supervisor who wasn’t initially aware of the policy I mentioned and gave me a similar initial response, much more professionally though. The difference? He found a resolution because he allowed himself to explore and discover that sometimes the customer may actually be right and not trying to make trouble. I was literally just trying to complete a transaction within their own guidelines. Go figure.
By the way, the USPS website states the following:
“The United States Postal Service replaces, without charge, a damaged or defective Money Order or one that is “spoiled” during imprinting or customer completion if the customer returns the negotiable portion of the Money Order and the matching customer receipt.” “ To have a spoiled or damaged international or domestic Money Order replaced (including one that was made out to an incorrect recipient):
Take both of the following to a local Post Office facility:
The original Postal Service Postal Money Order.
The purchase receipt for the original Money Order.
Fill out PS Form 6401 (Money Order Inquiry).
The Money Order will be immediately reissued.”
