Worst usps location that needs to be investigated. Was waiting for my package at home all day and nothing. I called them and they said they are going to re attempt delivery. Waited at home again the following day skipping work and still nothing. They didn’t even attempt to deliver. I grew up in this neighborhood and its always been constant issues. The whole staff needs to be fired. But of course because they are government employees they don’t care and are protected.

I haven’t complained about this location in years because it seemed to be on the up and up. Two things - the teller who showed up to do snowstorm duty was abjectly unprofessional and rude (also confirmed by others on line who’d had their own experiences with her). Second, the manager who used to be pretty nice, a. claimed to not know my face even though I’ve been going to his post office for twenty years and have had a ton of interactions with him over the years and b. seemed to totally forget how to be a decent manager, choosing to defend indefensible behavior rather than apologizing for that behavior and respecting me as a longtime consumer who’s had 0 issues with him. Today was a bad day for them. Hopefully she won’t be there for long as I’ve never seen her before.

I do not know what is wrong with this post office but it has shown a trend in ongoing customer complaints, so much that (in my opinion) is the worst performing location not just in New York but throughout the entire United States! The following is an explanation of my personal experience on Saturday, December 20, which is the Saturday before Christmas. Anyone would rightfully anticipate a minimum of two, maybe three operating windows the Saturday before Christmas, b ut this location only had one window to serve an entire lobby of customers. In fact, the customer queue had wrapped around three-fold. Again, all of these customers were to be serviced by one sole postal employee. During my wait, no less than seven or eight people expressed interest in having the station manager assist the employee but he declined, noting customers would have to wait 30 minutes for another employee to come off her lunch break. This is insane and highly unacceptable behavior from a branch manager! After 45 minutes, I ended up leaving the queue and went to the FedEx on W125 to conduct business. That experience was much faster, friendlier, and better staffed!

This location does not deliver any packages that doesn't fit in your mailbox or are heavy. Usually Macombs Post office is routed to deliver packages in the 10031 zip code. If a package is delivered to Hamilton Grange Post office they "lie" and say they made an "attempt delivery" and want you to pick up the package. It's an inconvenience, especially if you live ten blocks away. They do not like to do their job. It's a small post office. The lines are always completely long with maybe two workers because the others don't like to do their job. They do not have adequate supplies and for and for many years they didn't have pens for customers to fill out info to mail. The same workers for many years need to be re-trained.
