The first thing the person in the store did was give it a little toss and spin in the air. Seriously‽ Then they explained that for insurance over $1,000, they need to repack it. I packed the item very carefully. Am I supposed to trust them to pack better than I had after tossing the box in the air? No way! Insurance was also way more expensive than the post office wanted without either tossing the box or requiring repacking it. Bottom line: Use the nearby post office!
