- KMKayla MitchellJul 2, 20241.0I went to ship out a package and the door was locked but there was an older woman sitting behind the desk. I knocked and asked if it was closed to which she said “can you read?” I said yes and she said “well if you can read then you should know we’re obviously closed.” the post office in Troy closes at 5 so I was confused here because the sign says lobby closes at 5 and window closes at 4:30. Mind you it was 4:35 now. So I responded “I was just confused because it says window closes at 4:30 but this isn’t a window it’s another room” and she said “well I just told you twice that we’re closed so how about you just walk away now so I can deposit my money” (not sure what she meant by that) I was shocked and I said “you never know what someone is going through. Being kind goes a long way.” She started yelling and said “I told you to leave so go. BYE HAVE A NICE DAY” I said “okay. I hope your day gets better” and she yells again “MY DAY TERRIFIC” I went back to my car and cried. That was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a worker. I wish I had security footage because the way she treated me was absolutely unacceptable. Things would’ve been fine if she simply and respectfully said they were closed, but she had to go out of her way to be horribly rude. Shame on her and shame on USPS for keeping people like her employed.
