Yesterday (1/25/19), I visited the Lake George, NY post office to mail a package and buy some stamps before the rates increase tomorrow (1/27/19). Caleb brought numerous sheets of stamps which I chose from. As I paid, Caleb apologized for not having a large envelope for my stamps. I said thank you, no need for an envelope and left. When I got home, I showed the stamps to my wife. It was then that I noticed that one sheet of stamps was missing. I called the LG PO and asked Caleb if I had left it behind. He made a quick check of his area and the lobby and advised me that it was not there. I thanked him and let him know that I would drive there (20 minutes away) to check around on the street ouside the PO. He said to wait before I did that, that he would be going on lunch break in a couple of minutes and that he would check for me. A few minutes later, he called and told me that he found the stamps in the snowbank alongside the road. He said that the sticky backing was probably ruined, but that he would have a new sheet waiting for me after 1:00 when the PO reopened. I know that PO employees are often overwhelmed and cannot always do such favors, but it's great that some will go out of their way for customers when circumstances permit.
