  I got to the Geneva NY Staples just before 12 noon when they were to open today Sunday 11/23/25 and waited until 12:10 and there was no associate to unlock the door. There were many people waiting to go in. We all left. Not a good way to do business.

  Staples is one of those places that feels like it’s been trapped in a time bubble since 2006. You walk in expecting to buy printer ink, but end up questioning how this company still exists when no one has printed anything since the Obama administration. There’s always one employee who looks like they’ve been on a spiritual journey through the toner aisle for decades. The air smells faintly of paper, despair, and expired warranty plans. I went in to buy pens, but somehow left with a chair I didn’t need and a haunting sense of nostalgia for fax machines. Every shelf feels like a museum exhibit: “Behold, the last flash drives in captivity.” They sell snacks now too, which only adds to the confusion. Who decided a place for office supplies should also offer Doritos and Mountain Dew Code Red? It’s like they’re quietly trying to become a gas station without the gas. Still, there’s something comforting about it, like a relic refusing to die out of sheer stubbornness. So I salute Staples- part office, part crypt, part fever dream of capitalism.
