I just have one thing to say for the ones that complained that they weren't able to renew their passports due to this post office being understaffed or long lines. Also for the ones who are new and looking to apply for passport and thinking of coming here. GO TO THE TOWN OF HEMPSTEAD TOWN HALL. You' re welcome.

WHO is giving this place MORE than ONE Star . The SERVICE here is BEYOND horrible . On THIS Visit EIGHT Customers stood on Line .The Post Office offers FIVE Windows for Service - only ONE Window was Staffed . The Lobby offers Service until 5:30 PM - it was FOUR THIRTY when I arrived to do Business ; I needed to LEAVE . RETURNED 45 minutes LATER but , STILL ,no change . A Maintenance person remaked to me , ( as he heard the SEVERAL Customers mentioning the AWFUL Service ) , " .... Two Window workers called out Sick today .... " HOWEVER , that being SAID , there IS a practice where if ONE location is SEVERELY understaffed , a Call may be made to send ASSISTANCE from ANOTHER location . THAT didn't seem to HAPPEN on this day. This day the Freeport location had ONE Window Cashier, for what APPEARED to be the MAJORITY of the day . It ALSO appeared he was OVERWORKED and OVERWHELMED with the Volume of Customers on this day. The FreePort Post Office is a CONSTANTLY busy location , what happened here TODAY was a DISASTER . The SECOND Star ⭐ of this Review is for the EMPLOYEE ALONE, that had to work THROUGH and ENDURE these conditions .

I went there today to renew my passport. I had a 11.15am appointment, so I got there at 10.50am. When I got there, a lady was there doing her passport. She was being help by a worker that was doing two jobs. The worker was helping at the counter, and helping the lady with her passport. I was there for 40 minutes and no help, so I decided to leave. They need to do better with staffing.

I had an appointment for 11am today to do my passport. I got there at 10:20am. The supervisor came to the passport line to say someone will be there to help me shortly. She told the agent name wakeena to assist. She responded “no I am not doing it. The supervisor said yes you are. Long story short the line that was short has gotten long again. I went to speak to the agent now and ask will you be assisting with the passport, she replied I was call the supervisor. She called her to the front however long at the back the supervisor was just laughing with her colleagues. No passport was done. This was a total waste of time and not acceptable.

It's not just the office itself that's problematic. It's also the incompetent mail carriers. Wrong mail delivery every day.
