I learned an important lesson at this post office this week. If you want to drop off a pre-paid package, don't just leave it at the open window marked for that purpose. Wait on line AND ask the agent to scan it in for you. I actually did wait on line but then the agent said, "oh you didn't need to wait on line, just drop it in that window over there." So I did... but because I fell for that my package didn't get scanned into the system until 2.5 days later and so the three-day delivery I'd paid for became six days (and we'll see if that actually turns out as indicated).

cost $17 to ship a small plastic parcel weighing 1lb with basic ground shipping. i’ve shipped packages much larger than this for years and have never had to pay over $10 for shipping. this cost more than shipping a large box at other post offices. do not go here unless you want to be charged exorbitantly.

The gentleman behind the counter offered friendly, professional, patient advice to my wife and I. Even after he was horribly berated, demeaned and physically threatened by the customer who preceded us in line. All because the worker told him he could only process one carton - to be shipped - at a time. I felt very lucky that there are still people like that post office employee around.
