DON’T EVER come to this location for new passport unless you have appointment. They don’t take walk-in even though it said walk-in available on the website. Ridiculous.

First of all, this place has terrible delivery issues. They regularly dump mail on the floor of the mall area of my apartment complex and/or leave people’s mail boxes wide open and unlocked and/or deliver mail into the wrong box. It’s gotten to the point where tenants have posted multiple notices asking the mail men to PLEASE put mail in the correct boxes and lock them and yet, they never do.
Recently, I ordered a medical device which they claim was delivered and “left in mailbox” which is impossible because this device is far too big to fit into a mail box. The package was no where to be found, and when I called the post office they were extremely rude and dismissive and tried to blame it on me, saying I didn’t check for the package “soon enough” and that it probably was stolen. Keep in mind I never accused them of messing up or losing the package, I simply called to ask about how I should proceed with either getting the package found if it wasn’t delivered or filing a report for it being lost/stolen. They refused to help me with either of these things. I asked if I could put a hold on my mail until I figure out what’s going on and they also refused to do this, claiming it wasn’t possible.
I decided to best course of action was to open a PO Box immediately and have all my mail forwarded, because I had more important mail coming and didn’t want to risk another issue. At this point it was 4pm so I decided to open a PO Box online and go the next day to pick up the key. I go in the next day to do this and bring my drivers license and lease as required to confirm my identity. Now, at this point I moved very recently and haven’t yet updated my address. However on the post office website it says explicitly that the ID is simply to confirm identity and does not have to have an updated address or address on it at all.
Well, I go to show my ID and lease and am told by the employees that I can’t open the PO Box because of the “outdated address” which is blatantly untrue considering both a passport and student ID are accepted as valid photo ID for opening a PO Box, neither of which show a current address, and the website explicitly says this ID is to confirm identity, not show proof of address (which is what the second form of ID is for).
I explain the missing mail and ask if there’s any other solutions and get told “no, I’m not losing my job to break the rules for you” despite the fact that I never asked them to break any rules. I asked if there’s was any other way to hold my mail and they said yes even though the other employee told me this wasn’t possible. So, now I’ve wasted $60 on a PO Box that I don’t need and can’t even open.
