I don't typically write reviews, however today I will make an exception because I was truly impressed this morning by the young gentleman who single handedly managed the line of customers with professional calm and kindness. A quality of service that is lacking in most contemporary businesses. Thank you.

Gentlemen named Da’quan was at the counter and he was excellent. Not only did I receive above and beyond service, but an elderly woman from the neighborhood came in and asked for him by name because he was giving caring and thoughtful advice on how to use their printing services, which if you’ve ever been to a UPS store you know could be quite confusing. Hats off will be coming back to this location.

Well, I just had a very disappointing experience with this UPS branch. I went to ship some broken headphones to the manufacturer, who already provided me a pre-paid shipping label. I had already packaged and taped them securely in an old instant camera box (it was the only one I had laying around). When I went to the store, they told me they would charge a $4 printing fee to print the shipping label, which is fine. But then they told me I wouldn’t be able to ship the box I had already packaged the headphones in. When I asked why they couldn’t ship it in the perfectly fine box, they said it might get damaged, so it either needed to be one of their boxes or the original headphone box. Since when does the box matter? I’ve never had this issue with UPS before, and USPS doesn’t care what box things are in. Apparently their cheapest box was $5.99 and then on top of that, they would charge a $1.99 taping fee to tape the box It all sounded fishy to me, so I left without doing any of that. I went to the UPS on Knickerbocker instead, and lo and behold, I didn’t pay a cent. The employee who helped me pointed out there was a “mobile code” option so I didn’t have to pay the print fee and she said the box it was in was perfectly fine. She also printed out the label in a sticker format, so I didn’t need to pay for tape. She was very kind and helpful. So, clearly the things the Myrtle location were telling me are not company-wide standards, which indicated they were just trying to scam me into paying for unnecessary things. Please do better UPS, or you won’t have any more paying customers. TLDR: Do not come to this UPS branch unless you’d like to get scammed. Go to the Knickerbocker location instead!

This UPS location is great! The customer service reps are friendly and I feel like they are part of the neighborhood and not just some corporate goons, even tho UPS is a massive company. They still have that personable ambiance. A great option if you want to use shipping services in Clinton Hill.
