  On December 29th, around 1:30–2:00 p.m., I visited the Staples location in Bellerose, Queens, to have my mother’s obituaries printed. I understood it was a last-minute request and was fully prepared to pay the expedited fee and wait in line if necessary. Unfortunately, the customer service I received at the print counter was extremely rude and dismissive. When I asked for assistance using the self-service printer, I was told repeatedly that I could not be helped, despite clearly not knowing how to use the machine. What made the situation more upsetting was seeing a customer who arrived after me receive immediate, friendly assistance from the same employee. After filing a complaint with the manager, my daughter and I left feeling very upset. We then went to the Staples location on Northern Boulevard, where we had a completely different experience. Jennifer from the print department greeted us warmly, assisted us right away, answered all our questions, and completed our order in under two hours. Her customer service was truly top-tier. This contrast was disappointing. If someone is not willing to assist customers respectfully, they should not be in a customer-facing role. Thank you to Jennifer for restoring our faith in good customer service during a very difficult time.

  If you’re looking for a place to print a single page, this is not it. What should have been a straightforward request became an unnecessarily long and unsuccessful ordeal. Unfortunately, the staff lacked both the knowledge and ability to assist.

  Came in so I could print one page on my own at the self print. Last time I came in one of the girls put cardstock in the printer and I printed everything on my own with no issues. Today I come in & I’m told I need to come back in 30mins for ONE PAGE to be printed. I went and spoke to someone else and they sent me back to the print area where I stood there like an idiot still waiting. Save yourself the frustration & literally go anywhere else to get simple prints done because it’s complete rocket science for that to be figured out. There’s ZERO consistency in how things are done because it’s different every time.

  First, I have always found the employees here willing to help. It may take forever for them to assist because there are very few employees there. I frequent this location often, mostly for copy & shred services. The employee or employees (on a good day) are clearly overwhelmed with the amount of work to manage. Second, I'd ask why this location isn't as well stocked as others. The computer/electronics area gets the lion's share of attention while office supplies are withering away. Of course, without adequate staffing, this will happen. Third, why do we all have to be hassled by the lady who parks herself outside and begs for money? Realized today, she has been parking herself there for at least 2 yrs! I clearly remember her last winter😮. I understand this type of situation is difficult to manage, but I'd prefer not to be told I'm "ignorant" for not giving her money. Yup, she says awful things to customers who don't pad her pockets. While I do feel for her and her mental health issues - do you think it ok or good for this woman to maintain a post outside of this location? You got 2 stars for the employees who are trying to hang in there and always helped when asked, but..

  Don’t drop off your packages here. They lost three of mine and don’t offer any compensation. And since UPS never received them, UPS won’t compensate you either. And, you know, it’s oh-so interesting how three packages just happened to “disappear” from Staples at the exact same time.
