Store clerk told me my order was too big to process and he’d do half and then I’d have to wait for there to be no line for him to do more. I had 18 envelopes of important information to mail for work going to PO Boxes that can only be shipped through USPS. Regardless of how many employees are working and how long a line is, if I wait in line, I believe my entire order should be covered. I had to go to another post office for half my order.

We have a PO Box for our business. Billing has never been correct (notice of payment due always left in the box when it is auto paid online). We always get mail for other boxes and individuals not affiliated with the business, and the staff generally has no answers as to why we are experiencing consistent issues. Most of the time, your only choice for parking is at a paid meter.

USPS has been extremely unreliable in the last year. Aside from LOSING MY FATHERS ASHES by delivering it to the wrong address and allowing someone whose name wasn’t on the package to sign for and tamper with it. Today I went into the branch that had a single employee complaining about how tired they were to every person approaching the counter. I mailed 2 boxes 2 days prior but only one was scanned for tracking. Last time I went in to mail a package I was told if I didn’t need a receipt and it’s a prepaid label just leave it on the counter. This time the clerk told me I should’ve waited in line to have it scanned. Ultimately he told me if it doesn’t track there nothing they can do and I’ll have to offer the buyer of the item a refund. (and eat the cost of the item??). I asked multiple times if there was a number to call if the package isn’t delivered in a week and he said he doesn’t know the number. I begged for some other option and he said ‘the end’ and shooed me away. Trumps minions are as useless as their masters.

The USPS is, by far, the worst delivery service in America. Coming from experience of delivering over 10,000 packages for Amazon, I can firmly attest to their poorly designed systems that leave accountability loopholes open for exploitation by less motivated or ethical employees. We Americans should not be subsidizing low quality delivery services, losing our time attempting to solve their problems, and ultimately footing the bill for lost packages and mail. It is not surprising there is a movement to defund this outdated corporation in favor of competitors who developed proven solutions without congressional intervention.

It's a hit or miss with how long the wait will be. Avoid end of day or lunch rush, if you want to get in and out. But overall, the service is always great from the folks who work here. I just wanted to shout out the desk clerk Guy. I've come in every 2-3 months to mail a package or buy stamps at the counter since moving to Santa Fe a year and a half ago, and he's typically the person behind the counter when I'm there. No matter if it's a day where my wait is 10 minutes or no wait at all. Or if there is a customer who is unpleasant, he still always greets the next customer with a smile. Day in and day out. So kudos to you Guy! I know it's not easy out there.
