- LLLauraettaJan 30, 20261.0I left this store at about 4:14 pm on 1/30/26 wearing a brown hat and a black winter outfit. As I quietly looked around, the woman at the register immediately confronted me and repeatedly questioned my presence. I said I was just looking as any customer does, yet, she became visibly upset. When I pointed out the racial profiling, she denied and then told me I “looked scary.” (so… this is racial profiling btw lol). There was nothing threatening about my behavior… only my skin color. I am Black I’ve lived and watched this experience my entire life. I stood up for myself by questioning her actions towards me. I left out of fear she would call the police, and when I returned briefly to get the store’s information to share this review, she began recording me as if I was threatening her. This interaction was racially aggressive, violating, and unacceptable. This is the lived experience of what one learns in sociology 101 or the hyper social awareness that one inherits when they are born black. This was an act of business discrimination. Treating a customer with suspicion, hostility, and unequal treatment based on race is not only unkind, it is against the law. Customers are entitled to be treated with dignity and fairness, regardless, unless, obviously, and only if they are actually threatening the business. I rarely write reviews but this was a vile experience. Be Kinder. 0
