After the staff member was rude, dismissive, and contemptuous, she quickly clicked through some buttons on the screen including rating herself as giving "Excellent Service." Maybe she thought her service was excellent, but I did not think so. I would have rated it as, "Poor."

I wish I didn’t have to give any stars at all. The lady that works at the Oakland office (African American) is so unprofessional! I tried giving her the benefit of the doubt after the first time, but after the third time, I’ve drawn the conclusion that she’s just a nasty person! I had to drop off a return and she didn’t even take it from me. She had me put it on the counter and didn’t give me a receipt because she was sooo busy folding g a bag. She hates her job and takes it out on the customers. She’s so unprofessional! Even though there was no one else there, I had to wait for about 6 minutes while she was folding a bag. She is so rude and has such an attitude for absolutely no reason!

Extremely Unprofessional Passport Service – Very Disappointing Experience We came to this USPS location for our newborn’s passport appointment, expecting a normal, respectful service — especially since this is an official federal service and we arrived on time with all documents prepared. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely unpleasant. The woman at the front desk was openly rude and dismissive from the moment we walked in. She didn’t respond to simple greetings like “Good morning” or “thank you,” wouldn’t make eye contact, ignored basic questions, and spoke to us in a cold, disrespectful manner — just “sign here,” “do this,” without any explanation or kindness. It genuinely felt like we were interrupting her day or bothering her by just being there. We had our newborn baby with us, and usually people are kind or at least polite in such situations — but she showed zero interest or empathy. A few minutes later, one of her friends or familiar customers walked in, and her attitude completely changed: smiling, talking warmly about her weekend, family, etc. So clearly, this wasn't about being tired or stressed — it was a conscious choice of how to treat certain people. Another employee (a male clerk) was polite and professional, so it’s not about the entire office — but one particular employee at the passport counter is making the whole USPS location look unwelcoming and disrespectful. Because of this experience, I definitely will not return to this office and would not recommend it to others, especially families with children. USPS really needs to review customer service standards at this location and consider retraining staff. A federal service should treat everyone with basic respect.
