Clerk couldn’t be bothered to answer my question about getting my mail postmarked the same day, I asked her about certified mail and she basically kept saying I don’t know and I would have to attach and figure out the paperwork on my own she said she was very busy, so I got no answers just rudeness even though I was being very nice! I waited in line for my turn and was basically “shuffled” aside. How can I file a complaint against this worker?

If I can give 0 stars, I would. The manager at this store has the worst attitude and is one of the rudest person working in public service. I had paid $10 to ship something to NY on Jan 30 and while it arrived in NY, but it was never delivered to the building of the recipient due to the heavy snow. Per tracking, it was just held at the post office in NY and never redelivered after the snow passed. I then requested redelivery of the package for Feb 12. Not sure why, the redelivery never happened and the package came back to me in March. I went to the same post office in New Providence to ask either that they try again to deliver to NY or provide me with a refund considering nothing was done or whatever other options can be given to me. The manager of this location was rude and not helpful. Instead of helping me, she said that she can't control what happens in NY. After quite a bit of back and forth, I pleaded for her to help as I just wanted to get the package to my friend. She then said take off your address and we will redo it. I was told I can go home to do it or pay for a sticker to tape over my original address. I paid for the sticker, which was smaller than the original sticker I had. As a result, I ripped my original sticker off and put the new sticker on as otherwise, the original sticker with my handwriting would have come out and based on past experiences, USPS is a stickler for having other labels or writing on the box. When I handed the package with the new sticker to the manager, she practically yelled at me and said I didn't listen to her and now she can't help me. I then said, you were not clear and maybe I misunderstood, but at no point did you say don't rip the original address sticker. I then said, what's done is done due to a misunderstanding, so let's find a path forward. Again, instead of being helpful to find a solution, she was rude and literally embarrassed me and said I didn't listen and now she can't help. At the end, after another 10 minutes or back and forth, she took the package and said she will just re-tape the original label that I had ripped, again, not understanding that she needed it as I thought she would issue a new tracking. As of today, April 5, the package is still in "limbo". Not sure what she did with the package.

This New Providence, NJ Post Office (598 Central Ave. 07974) is a waste of time and $.
It is a terrible representation of the USPS.
Tara at the counter & the other clerks are very rude. They strong-arm the customers for positive reviews when they hand you the receipt.
In addition, if you have a P.O. box there, the workers don't sort the mail to fill the P.O. boxes for many days. Sometimes this post office doesn't place mail in the P.O. boxes for over a week, even when I have been assured that numerous clients have been sending me mail. Very lazy staff.
I filed a formal complaint with the USPS. The USPS is a Federal Agency & somehow this Post Office thinks it is acceptable to never deliver mail to the recipient. Where does this mail end up?
There are many other Post Offices in the area to open a P.O. Box with much better service.

This is my go-to Post Office. I have found the staff to be unfailingly polite, well-informed, and helpful.
