I was told over the phone that I had an appointment, but when I arrived I was told they “don’t do appointments.” I then waited about 40 minutes before being handed paperwork that could have been given to me right away. We were there with our two children under two years old, who understandably became fussy during the unnecessary wait. A little clarity or basic organization would have made a big difference. During the wait, the clerk was openly flirting with customers, asking one woman for her Instagram because she’s an influencer and continuing similar behavior with another customer. It made my wife and me uncomfortable and felt very unprofessional for a government office. The tone toward us was condescending, and the overall experience lacked professionalism and consistency. I understand offices get busy, but clear communication and appropriate conduct should be standard. I hope management addresses both the professionalism and the confusing appointment policy. It clearly states you have appointments available on your website and I had a confirmation for an appointment.
