The young woman at the counter was very kind and suggested I create the label online instead. So I went back to my car, created the label, and returned to print it in the store. Here’s the disappointing part: because their system was down, they still charged me $3.60 to print a single page—the very label they were unable to generate themselves. No courtesy, no exception, no acknowledgment of the inconvenience. Just a flat “this is the fee.” I paid it, but I did call the manager afterward hoping for a reasonable conversation. Instead, I was told that printing my label is considered a service they must charge for—even though the service I originally came in for wasn’t available.
