**Disappointed with Customer Service at Closter Post Office – Angie**
I had a truly disappointing experience with an employee named Angie at the Closter Post Office. Due to a small typo (just *one digit*) in my address on two Etsy orders, I proactively contacted USPS with the correct information and tracking numbers before the packages arrived. I also have Informed Delivery, so I was staying on top of it.
When the first package came in, Angie kindly left me a message. I appreciated that and went to the post office in person within 10 minutes of her call. While there, I explained the situation and let her know that a second package with the same typo was also on its way. I provided all the necessary details again — the corrected address, tracking numbers, and even showed my federal ID.
However, when I went back to pick up the second package (again within 10 minutes of her call), her attitude was surprisingly hostile. She came to the counter visibly upset and said, in a stern and irritated tone: *“Next time this happens, I will send the packages back to the sender.”* I was taken aback. There was no need for that level of frustration — especially since I had already communicated everything clearly and respectfully in advance.
I simply replied, “Understood, thanks,” and left. I didn’t argue, but I left feeling humiliated and honestly quite disappointed. I understand postal workers deal with a lot, but this was a minor and fully explained error, handled quickly and with transparency on my part. For a small town post office, you’d expect a little more understanding and professionalism — especially from someone in a customer-facing role. Sadly, that wasn’t the case here.

Classic small town post office with a great staff. The boxes could be bigger or newer, but the service can't be beat.

As far as post offices go, this one is always friendly and efficient. Also no long lines at least for the times I went there.
