This last time we had a large package that definitely wouldn’t fit in a mailbox and they left a note that said “Didn’t knock. Have a large package.” We have a large porch and UPS/FedEx leave stuff routinely. Then before we had any opportunity to pick it up and without any notice to us, they returned it to sender and we had to re-order it. I really hope they take a look at their practices, because this made no sense and they were also very rude when we tried to discuss it.
