The employees here are patient and kind and seem to always have a good attitude despite the never ending workload. It’s the post office so there’s always a line and much like the dmv, the speed depends on the complexity of the issues the people in front of you have, not the employees. They have a self service option which is nice and I was only not able to use it once during the holidays because it was out of label paper. If a package is too large for the self service drop bin, they said you can put it on the counter (after you’ve affixed your label, checked out on the kiosk etc). It’s in the middle of town so it’s just a busy location which is the only downside since, even with 3 people working, you can still wait a while due to everyone in line needing something different.

I always have a good experience here. The line is managed well, there is a self service option if you need to be even faster. I’ve observed the staff to be clear and patient, and calm under pressure. I go out of my way to go to this USPS instead of the two locations closer to me.

In the last week and a half I have had six packages delivered to me for complete other addresses all over the city. Each one supposedly supposed to have been delivered to the Matthews post office from UPS. Don't know why the mail carrier keeps giving me stuff that she should be delivering but I've just taken them and keep dropping them back off at this post office so they can sort out their issues 🤷♀️

Awful back office Service for new key! I have been having tough time reaching out to the person who takes care of new post office box keys. It has been more 3 weeks. Not sure how to escalate the issue. They gave me the number to contact her and she does not respond. Still trying...Finally they acted quickly after I resubmitted request as they had lost my previous request. Well, I will add a star for acting quickly and getting my keys!!!
Their front office folks were very responsive!!

passport service experience was horrendous! Ms Renee is great however the process could be better. 1st- as a walk in, you have to arrive around 6am to wait outside to receive a number 1-5 from the custodian. This is not noted anywhere for the public to be aware.
Applied for a family of 4 passports in May 2025. All 4 applications were lost including our supporting documentation (birth certificates & passport cards). We never received a tracking number. Had to call this office 20+ times to receive an answer to our inquiry about next steps. Had to come back in to reapply and repay. Once we received all 4 passports (4 months later) after reapplying, we went back in to be refunded for repurchasing the 4 passport books. The 1st time we went, we stood in line around 3pm only to be told we had to come back another day earlier in the day because only Ms Renee could assist us and she was gone for the day. They charged us $21 for this refund request which was no fault of our own from the start. We're currently waiting for the refund to be added to our account.
