Very disappointed with the way my claim was handled! My HVAC unit blew out and had irreparable burn damage after a lightning storm in June. The Allstate claims department procured an investigator from HVACi to investigate the claim. This company was VERY unprofessional--they failed to show up and failed to call on the date of my scheduled appointment. The investigator came out the next day and did an incomplete 15 minute investigation, did not even document the major burn damage, and his report was obviously false in stating that the burned out compressor was operational. Despite my pointing out these errors to the Allstate claims department, they DENIED my claim. At their request, I obtained a second damage report from my HVAC technician. This report was sent to HVACi so they could review the discrepancies with their initial report. HVACi proceeded to fabricate other reasons the unit likely failed, citing anything other than a possible power surge from lightning despite the fact that it happened during a storm. The claims adjuster Lisa S. with the National Catastrophe Team and her supervisor Megan L. were very incompetent and dismissive in addressing my concerns. I submitted multiple appeals to the Customer Advocacy Team, and each time was referred back to the same supervisor, who contrived multiple falsehoods and said my policy stated that if there are two possible causes of damages (such as lightning or mechanical failure) the claim would not be covered. She failed to produce a copy of this statement from my policy (because it is not in policy). It has become evident that the Claims Department is either grossly incompetent or systemically corrupt. I have held multiple policies with Allstate for over 20 years with only a few minor claims. This was my first major claim (which was only $6,000) and they failed to honor their obligation. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Sorry NC Farm Bureau, but it’s not me, it’s you. You’ve been as exciting as watching paint dry on a barn. Then Allstate walked in with that Georgia Bulldog bark commercial and had me laughing so hard I almost spilled my sweet tea. Consider this my official breakup letter — I’m packing up my policy and moving in with Allstate. Don’t call, don’t text… I'll be insured AND entertained now. Whoever wrote that commercial for Allstate needs a major raise. Love it !

My car was in an accident where an all state insured rear ended me, causing some damage to the trunk and rear bumper. All state appeared great at first. They called me right away, they offered a rental vehicle, and they gave me a body shop to go straight to. I took my car to that shop and they said it was totaled. TOTALED! They offered me less than what I paid for the car THREE DAYS BEFORE THE ACCIDENT and said they’d keep it. I fought it because that was so shady & got them to agree to a salvaged title deal. (Bs offer—horrible!) When picking up my car from the shop, the check engine light was on that was never on before and it was running like complete crap. Not sure what Allstate thought was going to happen but be very aware and never take your car to their shops!
