Adding on to the 1-hour long lunch break, the staff take many “15-minute” breaks that run well over 15 minutes. For a location that only operates 6.5 hours every day, this is just absurd

I ordered a package and it got rerouted because of an insufficient address. After calling DHL and USPS for over an hour, I called Carborro’s USPS site. It was over an hour and a half after closing and they picked up! Not only did I get great customer service on the phone, I was sitting on my porch and the delivery driver brought it to me! Way after hours and totally unanticipated. I was going to pick it up tomorrow! Thank you Carrboro USPS!

I've had repeated negative experiences at this location. The staff, especially the main counter attendant, is consistently rude and unhelpful, which makes every visit feel like an uphill battle. Last week the printer wasn’t working, so I couldn’t even get a receipt. This week there were handwritten signs everywhere saying the network was down and they couldn’t accept QR codes or card payments, cash only. In 2025. On a college campus. It’s honestly a joke that this is the level of service at a central post office in Chapel Hill, where students and community members rely heavily on tech to manage shipping and errands. USPS needs to seriously re-evaluate operations here. This place is failing its basic responsibilities.

Regina is the MVP. At other post offices, you wait in line, then they tell you that you didn't fill out form SDFJH-28734 or whatever, then you wait in line again. Regina really tries to help out the customer. I shipped a pair of skis that was packed in a handmade box, really just cardboard wrapped around it with lots of tape. I didn't know what was the cheapest method to ship it or where I should write the address. It was no problem at all for Regina she was super helpful and I think she was generous with how she took the box measurements so it was a little cheaper. If you have to ship something, go here.
