- HDHunter DietzmanNov 28, 20253.0I’ve been a loyal customer of this UPS Store for many years and have maintained a medium mailbox specifically because I was sold on (and happily paid extra for) the fact that reasonable package receiving and holding was included in the base fee. The outstanding service from Morgan, Geddy, Angel, Chris, and the rest of the team has always made this location worth far more than a USPS PO box or other private mailbox providers. They greet me by name, often have my packages ready before I even walk in, and deliver genuinely exceptional service every visit. The new pricing structure, however, completely destroys the value I originally signed up for. What was once included is now a separate subscription, and costs are shifting from a flat annual fee to per-package charges. For reference: My own bill will effectively triple (or more) depending on monthly package volume. I ran the numbers for the customer with the single largest mailbox at this location: based on the packages they received last month alone, their annual cost will increase roughly 10× under the new structure. A 300-1000% increase is not a normal adjustment, it’s a fundamental bait and switch that directly punishes the heaviest mailbox users who were encouraged to upgrade to larger boxes precisely because of higher package volume. To the franchise owner: retroactively stripping away a core benefit that existing customers relied on when choosing their mailbox tier, then charging them many times more for the same service, breaks trust. Many local small-business owners and online sellers I know have mailboxes at this store and at your other area locations. Word spreads quickly in this community, and a move this aggressive without any visible benefit to customers or apparent wage improvement for the outstanding staff who actually earn your five-star reputation will drive customers away. The employees here deserve 5 stars every single day. This pricing decision does not. Until existing customers are grandfathered in or the policy is meaningfully revised, I can no longer recommend your mailbox services. I truly hope you’ll reconsider before this change permanently damages the loyalty you've built with your customers.
