I could not even reach a service center until Monday "for reasons beyond our control", the message said. When I did, the girl said the modem was defective and they would ship a new one. That would be 2 or 3 days, plus Remembrance Day, and she would not consider another method of getting me one: I offered to drive to Fredericton, or wherever, to pick one up. Wednesday it came -- still wouldn't work. Service man arrives Thursday (takes him 20 minutes to get to my house), fixed in it 5 minutes (connector), and I learn that the service people have extra modems in their vans! Five days -- Unable to call or do my internet work, and no TV! All needlessly. Yes, the service was poor and their methodology needs tweaking. I wonder if a Bell executive would have to wait five days.

I dropped by Bell Aliant at the McAllister mall and within 10 minutes two of the staff had investigated and found and resolved the problem (a malfunctioning third party VPN app). It is a huge relief to have this resolved so quickly during a busy week of work and contact with clients both in New Brunswick and Ontario. Thanks Bell Aliant staff in Saint John!!
