I first want to start off by saying that our normal route driver is fantastic. She is friendly to our animals and considerate with the delivery of our mail. I don’t want this review to reflect on her. Today, whoever they had on our route delivering the mail that has been backed up for over a week, due to the ice storm, was careless. I am appalled and a bit angry that numerous packages (some very expensive items) were left by a tree down by the road. Anyone could’ve stolen our items. Not only that, but there were several packages mixed in with ours, that belonged to our neighbors! Some of our stuff was delivered to neighbors as well! I understand that things have been backed up and the demand to get mail out to hundreds or residents on icy roads, is a lot. But this is your job. This is unorganized and unacceptable. No one will answer the phone at the post office, either.

When I setup my mailbox I followed the guidelines via usps website. I spread a gravel drive for mailman to drive on and boarded it with bricks. I used the dimensions of my 3/4 ton diesel truck to figure out how long and wide to make the small driveway. My mailman insists on driving over the edge of the gravel/bricks and rutting up my yard. I've personally called the post master three times, along with my wife who has called another theee times to complain and figure out what we could do on our part to resolve this problem. The post master has done absolutely nothing. She insisted on meeting us at our home to find a solution, and she never came. Our mailman has even gone as far as to put our mail on hold for a week without our permission. It was very inconvenient for us.
I am all about safety, and I understand that turning back onto highway is very dangerous, but the next mailbox is a mile away. Our mailbox is located at the top of a hill with clear view of traffic coming from both ways.
