If I take them to the other close post office they hold on to them for days. Everyone there has always been nice to me with the true small town charm. The only negative comment I can make is the rural carrier won't drive down my road. He says he can't make it down. He drives a really old car and I drive a Nissan maxima and I can do it no problems!
