There is no way this post office can be that busy that they need to close for an hour they could have someone sitting at the counter all the time it's ridiculous that they have to close for businesses to deliver or or get stamps or envelopes or mail a package

One dark and dreary evening, a bit past 7pm, I wanted to mail a package. Google insisted that this was the nearest post office, even though I've driven by the building many times and never seen anyone there. I always thought it was closed. I almost asked for another location, but my curiosity got the better of me and I found myself pulling into the empty parking lot. A chill wind brushed my cheeks as I approached the door and gave it a tug, expecting it to be locked. To my great surprise, it opened smoothly. I hesitantly stepped inside. There was no one there, but the typical decorations were all there--greeting cards, Priority Mail envelopes, myriad stacks of customs forms--lit only by the setting sun coming through the plate glass doors. The door slowly shut behind me with an unearthly squeal and an ominous click.  There was no turning back now. Scanning the abandoned lobby, I located two large slots that indicated they were for parcels. Both were labeled, but in the cryptic language of Post'al, which I do not understand and I dare not transcribe here. So I lifted one of the slots and deposited my parcel. There was an audible thump as it hit the floor, to lay there for all eternity. Then there was another thump. And another. Then, the unmistakable sounds of footsteps, heavy breathing, and a body being dragged across the concrete floor, coming closer. I fled to the safety of my car and never looked back. Later, I found that my package had been successfully delivered. I don't know how or why or wherefore. All I know is that there was something evil lurking in that dark building, and that I was lucky to escape with my life.
