I am extremely frustrated with the service from the post office today. My mailbox was left wide open, and now all of my mail is soaked. This should be a basic part of the job, yet it keeps happening. Please make sure your staff are properly trained so this doesn’t continue.

I moved into a new apartment within the same complex and had to get a new mailbox key. Now, I had lots of issues with this post office the last time I took a long vacation while living in my old apartment and since I had another coming up, I waited to order my key until I returned from my trip. I order something from Amazon and had the unfortunate surprise that this one was shipped via USPS. Since I didn't have my mailbox key yet, I went to the post office in person on a Thursday. I filled out the form to order a new key and was told it would take 2 weeks, and that I could fill out the yellow 'mail hold' form and my package would just come back to that location and should be there for me to get by Saturday. I went back Saturday morning and the lady I spoke to said she couldn't find any mail or any yellow form. I filled out the yellow form a 2nd time and left. I went back again today at the 2 week mark and what do you know? No key, no mail, no yellow form. I had to fill out the form a third time and am now being told it could take up to 6 weeks to get my mailbox key. If you live in this area I strongly recommend you have things shipped to a different address, or use FedEx as often as possible.
