- ZDZach DrewJan 11, 20251.0I have engaged with many recruiting firms during my unemployment, but this is the only one that left me feeling insulted. Chase disqualified me from a desktop support position that I am a great fit for because although I do have computer hardware experience, my experience wasn't "recent" enough. I think if anyone reading this has done any desktop support work, then you know that computer hardware is something you figure out week one and then you are basically set for the rest of your career. This isn't like the 90's where computer hardware is drastically changing year to year and you would need to do things like manually configure IRQ settings and fiddle with on-board DIP switches to get add-on hardware working. These days, you just find the keyed slot the peripheral plugs into and likely Windows Update will take care of the drivers (if there are drivers needed at all). Worse, the company in the job ad in question was also one that I have had a great experience with and their hiring records would show that I am eligible for rehire. I'm sure this company would be equally thrilled to have me on as a W2 Contractor or at least want to interview me. Not good enough for the fresh out of school recruiters Insight Global hires apparently. Shame on Insight Global.
