If I could leave a zero-star review, I would. If you are in need of a passport, I highly recommend you find somewhere else to get that done. I made an appointment to get a new passport for a minor. Less than an hour prior to my appointment, the supervisor called to tell me that the person doing appointments had to leave, so they wouldn’t be able to accommodate my appointment, and we would need to reschedule. I asked since I was already on the way and would be arriving in less than 5 minutes if we could get in before the employee left. She said that might be a possibility, so to go ahead and come in. We arrived at 12:40, and the person that should’ve been helping us was to leave at 1:00 p.m. Mind you, the appointments for passports are only 15 minutes, so there could’ve been time. We knocked on the door as it says to and proceeded to wait. After knocking twice with no answer, we asked if someone at the counter if anyone was going to be able to do the passport. The lady at the counter said, “I just got back from lunch. I don’t know what’s going on.” Bob, the male employee who does the passports, said to the other employee, “The supervisor knows about that. They were to call them.” I told them that she did call me, and she said if we went ahead and came in, we might be able to get seen. He very rudely shouted back, “She was wrong!”. We immediately walked out, and I called the supervisor back. I voiced my frustration and told her we would be finding somewhere else to complete the passport because the disrespect that was shown in their office is unacceptable. She proceeded to tell me that this is not the first complaint they have had about passports and specifically Bob. She then proceeded to tell me that they take walk-ins for passports on Saturdays, and she could guarantee that it would be a different employee, and they opened at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning at 9:15, I walked into the post office and asked if there is anyone there to do passports. Wouldn’t you know I was told they only take appointments on Saturdays and they are unable to do it today. As I proceeded to tell her the entire back story as to why I was there requesting assistance today, she just said, “Nope, sorry, we don’t do that.” There were three workers standing at the counter doing nothing but looking at me. I am beyond frustrated with this experience. If you need to get a passport in Joplin you can either get treated with disrespect at the Joplin USPS on North Main or you can go to the Joplin Public Library and have a fantastic experience.

Less than helpful. Doesn't provide customer service for disabled people, expects them to use the internet to solve their issues even though their issue is with the local office.

The incompetence is astounding. I wonder if they ever get tired of being horrible? Maybe it’s a game?
