- EHEthan HulbertJun 1, 20255.0I don't make a habit of reviewing post offices, but the post office in Zumbro Falls was such an amazing, delightful surprise. You walk into this post office and immediately see, even from the outside, how decorated it is, how excited it is to be a post office and serve the community. I just had to take photos - look at how neat this place is! You walk in to see this big WELCOME banner, and because it's spring, everything right now is decorated with a tropical theme, or to honor Memorial Day. Tiki decorations, a "Summer Time" banner, envelopes with hearts, happiness everywhere. The US Stamps edition of the Monopoly board and a book about mail carriers laying open on display. Big friendly signs and information on easy display for the community. I commented on this to the person working, and she informed me that it was all her doing. She told me her name was Savannah, and that she decorated the place anew every couple months to change with the seasons and what was going on in the world. She showed me a bench that she's been working on covering with reclaimed old stamps. She even had a shiny, fun USPS shirt on that she said she made herself! As I was there, another person came in and I saw Savannah help her unload her boxes. It is so clear that Savannah loves her job, loves the post office, loves the community, and puts immense effort into making a little part of the world better for everyone. If the world were fair I think Savannah would be running the whole federal postal system, can you imagine how nice society would be if everyone had the same amount of care and passion for what they do? I don't know what Savannah makes but whatever it is, it's not enough, she needs a raise. The Zumbro Falls post office is the nicest post office I've ever visited and undoubtedly the best post office in Minnesota. What a lucky community to have this facility here!
