Current postmaster sucks. She hates her job and people even more so and it shows. First class mail gets delivered but God forbid you have a package coming your way. I’ve had mis-scanned deliveries or items the postmaster claims were delivered when in fact I have proof they were not.at all. Delivery driver loves to just set the package out by the mailbox along the road instead of delivering to the door. I’ve had to track down packages that were sent to another address in town here myself as the ORONOCO office here won’t help you. Worst post office I’ve dealt with in decades. They need a replacement ASAP but then again they’re a federal employee so good luck with that. Our postmaster and route delivery driver we used to have were top notch but things have definitely crapped the bed now with Molly at the helm. So much for affirmative action.

I love USPS. The reason all the old reviews for this place are great is because the prior clerk (that guy who exercised and smoked all the time) was very kind and helpful to us as customers. However Molly, our only clerk in recent years, is increasingly 👎. She's arrogant, mean, she snaps at customers. I have seen her, multiple times, hang up on phone calls with customers without saying goodbye.
My last straw was that Molly set me up for failure with my wedding invite postage. I came in the day before to make sure everything was good to go before sealing and putting postage on all of the invites. On that day, when I had a question about total postage with hand cancellation, Molly told me the individual prices of the postage for my invites and the hand cancelling, in very angry and annoyed tones, but when it came to asking for the total postage needed (postage based on weight + hand cancellation, utilizing two forever stamps) or how to pay amount, she yelled, "I'm not doing that math!" So I did the math in front of her, based on the amounts she was willing to tell me in angry tones, checking in with her over and over to make sure there weren't errors and I was understanding correctly. Because that is the only option she gave me to figure out a plan with those invitations. I told her what my plan was, and told her I'd be back the next day. My plan was to use two forever stamps on each, which is a penny short of their postage + hand cancellation, with my discussed plan to pay her that last penny the next day, and mail them all off. She was in agreement. The next day I got a sharp series of angry faces and yelling from Molly about how she didn't have any penny stamps, she never had penny stamps, and she also wouldn't tell me where to go or what to do to get some. She had metaphorically thrown a banana skin on the floor one day and waited to watch me fall on it the next day, knowing that I would. When I asked what her smallest denomination of stamps was, she said her regular (full priced) once. That's a bald-faced lie because the day before she had smaller ones, too. This is not a busy post office. She certainly didnt sell those all overnight.
A heads up to everyone else reading this - if you make a complaint on Molly online via the USPS website, and associate the town or zip for Oronoco in the location text boxes, that complaint about Molly routes directly to Molly, and she can make it disappear very easily. Instead, route your complaints for this office to the neighboring Pine Island USPS (write in Pine Island, MN and 55963 in all the fields), then only mention Molly/Oronoco only in the comments section. Molly's boss Steve works out of the PI office. So routing your complaint to PI routes it directly to her boss. Or just go visit him in person if you have a problem. That's what I did in this case. However unfortunately I can't seem to find the complaint section of the USPS website, to submit this formally. Pine Island USPS does also have things like penny stamps if you need them. I would personally just bypass Molly and go to another post office, especially if the mail you're mailing matters to you.

The guy with the hair and the beard always does a fantastic job taking care of me. He’s personable, confident and funny - all great things to have at a front desk of any place. His outgoing personality makes it an experience! :)
