- RARebecca AndersonDec 12, 20251.0Went to the Winter Walk last night, and since Northfield has such a problem with not enough parking for community events, I parked in the post office parking lot after they were closed. There was no sign that you couldn’t do it after hours. The parking lot was almost full, unlike during operational hours when it’s almost always empty. I got out and the parking Nazi yelled and complained to me that I couldn’t park there. She said she’s going to call the tow truck and proceeded to literally call on her phone. I said it’s after hours and asked her is she gonna call the tow truck on all of these cars? She yelled yes and that this is federal land. I don’t think she knows most federal land is public land but I think what she wanted to say is that its HER land. The story gets better.. I called the tow truck business to explain all this and they were CLOSED. I know they’d be available for emergency situations but this was no emergency. She’s done this to a lot of people. Most people that go to the post office park in front of it and on the street, which leaves the parking lot open 95% of the time. And when I say 95% the other 5% that it’s not completely open there’s only like three cars parked there in about 12 spots. I’m calling the postmaster, but something needs to change here!
