This post office doesn't even attempt to deliver or hold parcels if the carrier doesn't recognize the name on the package. The gentleman at the counter was polite and friendly about it. However, the package was listed as out for delivery at 6:30, I was notified that it was "undeliverable" at 8:38, it had been processed for return by 8:50, and it was explained to me at 10:00 when I showed up in person that this was their policy and that it was already gone. I understand that tourism is highly seasonal in terms of the demand placed on local resources, but I haven't run into this same issue anywhere else and it seems myopic of those in charge of budgeting and staffing for seasonality to ignore the entirety of the tourist/part-time population when a significant portion of surrounding businesses are built on that same population. I know of several tourist destinations that require double digit miles of off road travel to access that are serviced by USPS and other major carriers. A cabin within 7 miles of the post office on paved roads doesn't seem like it should be a stretch.

Package wasn't delivered due to understaffed. Then when I went to the post office they had already sent it back to sender within 4 hours of me being notified of it not being delivered. Couldn't even give the customer a chance to pick it up at rhe facility. This post office is a joke and so is the whole post office system.

Pretty sad when the worst rudest employee is the one in charge. The delivery people are great. Maybe they need to move him where there’s no seasonal people or tourists because apparently they really annoy him. I’m not seasonal but he assumed I was. If any employee, much less a manager, at a normal business acted that way they would be fired.

Beyond rude. We own a lake home in Crosslake and they refuse to deliver packages because it’s not our primary address. Insane, we pay taxes here. They said they only get paid for packages for primary residents. Typical government rules. Wouldn’t even make a one time exception for the packages we have coming this week they said they will go right back. We even offered to come to the post office to get them and they said no guarantees. Last year the packages came just fine. Unbelievable.

Hours don’t accommodate working people and should be longer on Saturday
