I want to shout out VAL from Royal Oak post office! Do not sleep on Val, she is the GOAT of customer service! I went through a nightmare rigamarole of logistics snafus as I'm sure a lot of you have and I put in a case online and I was BLESSED to have Val be the one to call me back. She went above and beyond to fix my situation. She even had a delivery person go back and get my package that had been delivered and then priority sent it to my new address! I truly didn't think this level of service still existed in 2026, much less as a place with a reputation like USPS (no offense). I really do appreciate it and it saved me a five hour round trip to go pick up a package. Thank you VAL! You made my day!

Super unprofessional behavior from the desk clerk today who refused to accept a prepaid return label package saying the label was expired when it was completely valid. Clerk was rude and dismissive when I asked to see the policy and they could not locate it.
I found the policy on the USPS website which proved the shipping label was valid (less than 2 weeks old) and they refused to acknowledge they made a mistake and wouldn’t accept it. I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen someone so confidently incorrect.
I then scanned and put it in the automated machine in the lobby and it was processed perfectly fine.
I was able to file an online complaint in the amount of time it took a supervisor to discuss the issue in the lobby. Really disappointing behavior from a public servant and the supervisor didn’t really seem interested in correcting their behavior, despite agreeing she didn’t think the policy was what the clerk thought.
After researching online after the fact, prepaid return labels are valid for up to a YEAR and most other labels are at least 28 days.
Edit: Post office followed up with a letter citing the policy for CLICK N SHIP Product packages. This was NOT a Click and Ship package, which is for outbound mail only. My package was a pre-paid RETURN label provided by a seller which has different shipping rules than Click N Ship....
