Today I came to make a passport for my son, but the attitude of the staff is very discriminatory. Along with that, they made a very long appointment after that. I don't feel supported even though it's snowing and my 1-month-old baby. Don't come

I was running errands all day, and searched for "post office near me that's open". It was nearly 6 PM on a weekday. This post office in Madison Heights was open later than all others within 5 miles. I had to ship a small, flat rate box to a friend in NorCal. I wasn't prepared, and didn't have any material to fill up the extra space inside the box. I scrounged through all the waste paper baskets in the lobby of the post office. Fortunately I found just enough weekly coupon flyers on newsprint paper that had been discarded by P.O. box holders. I crumpled the paper and filled up the box so the heavy items inside didn't bang around during shipping. The clerk that helped me was pleasant and efficient. The recipient of this package lives in a location where parcels, even small boxes, cannot be left at the door. I asked what the options were for delivery to ensure someone must receive and sign for the package. For a small additional fee, there is the option to require a hand written signature. In the past, the digital signature for receipt has been indicated when no one at the delivery location signed for the package... and the package 'disappeared'! Although a bit inconvenient, my friend went to the local post office to sign for the package. At least I know my package was delivered. Thanks to the helpful clerk who shared all the types of delivery confirmations available for flat rate shipping. I wasn't aware of this particular delivery confirmation option.

If you need insurance on your package make sure you don't purchase it from this post office. It will never make it to the sorting facility. 3rd time that I've had a package get lost on its way from this post office to sorting. Odd that it only happens to my valuable and insured packages...
