- TKTwo KDec 28, 20251.0This post office was run seamlessly under Postmaster Amy. The woman who replaced Amy was knowledgeable and friendly, too. It used to be a joy to go there. I hate going there now. Now, when you're mailing a package, the new female clerk, instead of asking if you're mailing anything "fragile, liquid, perishable, or hazardous," skips those questions altogether and just directs you to "just select 'no' on the screen." (THAT PUTS LIABILITY DIRECTLY ON CUSTOMERS AND ENDANGERS LIVES OF THOSE TRANSPORTING PACKAGES!) At another visit, she didn't give options for mailing my package (Priority Mail, Ground Advantage, Media Mail) nor asked if it needed special handling or insurance. Instead, she just selected for me, then asked for payment. When the transaction was complete, she reached over the counter to give herself top rating on the customer satisfaction survey. I told her, "You're not supposed to do that," to which she responded, I needed to do that to print your receipt. It's not the first time she has rated herself. I've experienced it multiple times, and her response is that I can go online and leave a review. During my latest visit, I requested a receipt for the package I was dropping off, and was told the printer hadn't been working all afternoon and would require a reboot, which would take twenty minutes. Excuse me!?!? WHY was that not done, then? I had to ask for a handwritten receipt. Honestly, I was tempted to remind her that her customers pay her salary, but I bit my tongue. I have little confidence left in our local post office now, a complete turnaround from what it was not that long ago.
