Impossible to simply speak to a representative on the phone. You would think that a public service paid for with tax money would allow you to talk to a human and deliver your packages when you’re not home instead of sending them back. Worse than the DMV

I have had wonderful experiences with the mail carriers themselves, but this post office customer service is just horrendous. The gentleman working the front desk is unnecessarily rude and to a degree that I have no idea how he managed to get (or keep) the job. The energy he put into being sarcastic, demeaning, and just downright disrespectful is astounding. When the customer is wrong, he makes sure they know it and doesn’t try to help them through any resolution. Today I was standing in line listening to an older lady ask why her Amazon package was marked as undeliverable and why they never got notified by USPS that the package was sitting at the post office. The man was snippy and said “I don’t know, we don’t have any program where carriers input a reason.” So she explained the package was for her disabled mother and she’d like to pick it up. He scoffs and tells her that’s not possible without a power of attorney present. She then asks if it can be delivered again as her mother cannot physically go to the post office and he (acting like a whiny child) told her nope you only get one delivery attempt. So she said okay if I get another sent, how can I prevent this happening again if I don’t know why it wasn’t delivered the first time? And he shrugged and said I don’t know, our carriers aren’t walking upstairs to delivery a heavy box (so why is USPS accepting such packages?). She asked if he knew the carrier who marked it undeliverable so he could ask why and he said they don’t keep track of who delivers mail. As I watched this unfold and realized that this man was incapable and unwilling to providing customer service, I spoke up and explained how she could deny delivery and get her money back from amazon. I also recommended she look for a different supplier to avoid USPS. She was so flustered and thanked me for being so kind and helping. Even if there was nothing he could do to help her, the blatant disregard as a human being was unlike anything I had seen before. On that note- shouldn’t they be able to explain why a package was undeliverable? Shouldn’t they be able to identify which carrier delivered mail on what day and where? Shouldn’t they not accept packages they are unwilling or unable to deliver due to size? I’ll avoid like the plague!

Seriously the WORST service ever! My mail almost always either gets delivered to my neighbors house or I just don't get it at all!! I am signed up online to see what my mail is daily so if it's something important I go get it from my neighbors box or she gives it to me. I have made so many complaints and it gets better for a week or two then STOPS AGAIN! I am at my wits end. There has been no mail person in my neighborhood at all today and I have mail that was suppose to be delivered today.. when is this gonna get better??
