- RPRebecca PalmerApr 3, 20231.0To say I'm disappointed in my most recent visits is an understatement. This is the closest post office to us, and we've never had an issue previously. We went in the first week of January to get first-time passports. We didn't know what we were doing, and the employee was so helpful. We were prepared to pay to expedite our passports, and she discouraged us from paying the extra stating that the current processing time was 6-9 weeks, and we had 16 weeks till our trip and to save our money. We were so grateful. Little did we know what would follow. I'm not sure where the screw up was, but it took 2 weeks for the passport agency to receive our applications. In that time period, the processing time increased to 8-10 weeks. Ok, we still have an extra 6 weeks until our trip. Well then, we got notified that our pictures were rejected. Ugh. So we go back, and she takes our photos again, but then made out like it was our fault because they never get rejected. She refused to print the letter I had to mail with the photos, so at that point, we had to go to the library to print it and then went to the Battle Creek post office to mail it. At the Battle Creek post office, an amazing young man named Dillion helped us. He retook our pictures because when he saw the retake, he said it was horrible quality, and he didn't think they would accept that one either, and then he overnighted it for FREE. I understand mistakes happen but when you do this as your job you should be able to recognize a bad photo that will get rejected, and not have a bad attitude when we come back to get it fixed. Now, here we are 13 weeks after we applied with less than 3 weeks till our trip and still don't have our passports. Included is the photos from Dowling and Battle Creek and you can see a huge difference in quality. I do not recommend getting your photo done in Dowling because there is obviously something wrong with their camera or the lighting in the building.
