This is probably one of the worst places I have ever had to do business with. These people lie all the time. Tell you they will do one thing then do another. They also think because they drive a mail truck they don't have to follow traffic laws. Blocking handicap ♿️ parking spaces. Parking behind vehicles and they are trying to leave. The employees at this location really hate their jobs obviously.

I want to share my recent experience at the Comstock Park Post Office because I truly hope it leads to improvement. On Tuesday, I came in to buy 70 postcard stamps for my company’s Christmas cards. From the moment I reached the counter, the interaction felt tense and unpleasant. The employee helping me seemed irritated, wandered around looking for stamps, and eventually handed me a design with sailboats. Given that it’s December, I kindly asked if there were any other options, like the leaf stamps shown online, and he abruptly told me “no.” Never having done this before, I accepted it but left confused and disappointed.
I went to the Rockford Post Office to see if an exchange was possible. The woman there was very kind and explained that I’d need to return the next morning. When I did, she let me know they couldn’t exchange the stamps because the sailboat design wasn’t in their inventory, but she also mentioned that Comstock Park should have the leaf stamps. She encouraged me to go back and ask.
I then called Comstock Park and spoke with Patty, who was wonderful. She confirmed they had the leaf postcard stamps in a roll of 100 and told me to come in the next morning so she could help. I appreciated her clarity and willingness to fix the situation.
However, when I came back today, the same two employees from Tuesday were at the counter, and the entire interaction made me feel like helping me was a burden. They told me they couldn’t assist, even though I had the stamps and receipt. Only when I insisted and mentioned Patty did they start to understand what I needed. They mumbled to each other, avoided communicating with me, and offered no explanation until they finally located the correct roll. Their attitude made the process far more uncomfortable than it needed to be.
After the exchange, I asked if I could keep the original receipt for my company’s records. Again, I was met with a sharp “no.” When I asked if I could at least take a photo of it from the trash can where it had just been placed, the response was even ruder, with accusations about going to another post office for a refund. This was simply an exchange in which I paid more than I started with, but the tone suggested I was trying to do something improper.
The policy itself isn’t the issue (if it was a policy) — I understand policies. It was the delivery, the hostility, and the unwillingness to communicate that left me feeling dismissed and unwelcome. Patty showed me that respectful, helpful service is possible. The other two employees made the experience stressful, cold, and unnecessarily difficult.
I’m sharing this because I believe customer service matters, especially in a community-facing place like a post office. I hope this feedback encourages better communication, organization, and kindness going forward.

The guy told me he would have to ship my return ( cologne ) the slowest possible way ground even though I paid for an express label because I didn’t pay for a hazmat label but per Google and the USPS customer support that only applies to liquid 16 ounces and greater this cologne was less than 3 ounces offered me no refund for the difference so basically I had I had to pay for expedited shipping, but I’m gonna get slow as hell delivery
