  I shop at Staples regularly, customer service is good, they offer free, fast delivery. Also, I bought an office chair 7 yrs ago, it has a 7 yr warranty which would expire in 1 month, the seat wore thin across the front edge. I called Staples, they sent me a new seat which I got in 4 days, no hassle. They stood behind their product!

  I am a human being with red blood in my veins, and I breathe the same air as everyone else. For the last two years, I’ve been looking for my “computer man” from Staples, and I finally saw him while he was out shopping. I walked up to him, and he told me the entire story. Wow. I used to love coming to the Staples on 14 Mile and Crooks, but not anymore. How can your Human Resources department allow a white man to call this gentleman the N-word and other racial slurs? And how could the older white coworker who witnessed it stay silent? What a shame. The saddest part is that the Black associate at Staples didn’t stand up for him either. That disappointment runs deep. I only went to that store hoping to find Jeff, and I’m glad I finally did. I’m going to write a letter to the NAACP and the Civil Rights Office, because it’s clear to me that Staples HR has no moral compass when it comes to respecting people of color. Jeff worked there for 20 years, and yet he wasn’t allowed to defend himself. He even showed me the video of the man getting in his face and flipping him off. And somehow he was the one punished? Every time I step foot in that store, I’m going to call out Jeff’s name so the manager can think long and hard about the loss they caused. I also got the name of the older white coworker who stood by silently—I’ll be avoiding him and his incognito racial self. Jeff told me he can still work on my computer privately, and I won’t ever need Staples again. I’m extremely disappointed in this company. We’re living in the 21st century, and we still can’t treat each other with basic respect. Staples, you have officially lost a loyal, long-term customer. I’ll be taking my business to your competitors. Update: looking forward to hearing your feedback back after the investigation, your manager Khadijad could have told me that you guys had let Jeffery go with the amount of times I’ve been in there. Since the response seems auto generated hoping for a response from a human soon about the situation.
