The store does what it is supposed to, no complains. But the front desk associate on weekends (maybe weekdays too, not sure) is absolutely someone you do not want to interact with if you're having a bad day or have no plans on ruining the day. Always looks like he was forced to be there and is the least friendly associate I've seen in an UPS store in this area. I try to avoid coming here as much as possible but it is the only one in this area. Not expecting exceptional customer service but atleast a hi/bye, a friendly response to questions I ask/ issues I run into would be a good start.

On October 23, at approximately 6:30 PM, I visited a UPS store located on Plymouth Road in Ann Arbor for the purpose of mailing a letter. I was attended to by a middle-aged male associate who was wearing glasses. I presented him with a letter intended for a government office in Lansing, which has a P.O. box number in its address. I requested that the letter be sent via regular mail.
The associate initially weighed the letter and subsequently began entering my personal information, including my name, address, telephone number and email, into his computer system. I found it perplexing that such extensive information was deemed necessary for a regular mail transaction, particularly since even certified mail typically does not require this level of detail. His prolonged typing suggested the possibility that my mailing was regarded as suspicious or exceptional, rather than standard correspondence.
After approximately ten minutes of processing, he provided me with a UPS envelope to house my letter. Upon inquiring about the necessity of using a UPS envelope instead of my own, he explained that mail directed to a P.O. box could not be placed in a standard envelope. Despite the absence of other customers in the store, he took an unusually long time to complete the transaction.
The associate quoted a mailing cost of $23.00 for the delivery to Lansing. I was taken aback by this price; when I expressed my astonishment, he sought clarification from the manager, who confirmed the charge. Consequently, I retrieved my letter and proceeded to a nearby post office. The post office's fee for sending the letter was only $2.44, allowing me to complete the process in under a minute.
This experience at UPS was exceedingly disappointing, particularly in light of the significant price discrepancy. I remain puzzled as to how he arrived at a charge of $23.00 for a standard mailing that I was able to send for merely $2.44. This raises concerns regarding whether my accent may have led him to misjudge and overcharge me or if he, regardless of any bias, sought to deceive me.

I used this UPS Store as a place to pick up a valuable item that was being delivered. I was greeted with a friendly face the moment I walked in and the friendliness continued from there. My package was delivered safely and I was able to show my ID and pick up my package within a few minutes. It was wonderful to have such a pleasant experience after worrying all day about that delivery. Thank you!
