As a local business, Maine Device Repair ships through the Bucksport USPS regularly and we’ve had consistently good experiences over the past 3+ years.
The staff at the counter have always been friendly, attentive, and professional. They clearly deal with a lot of people every day, but they still manage to keep things moving smoothly and treat regulars well. At this point they usually recognize me before I even say my PO Box number, which says a lot about how often we work with them.
Like any postal service, delays can happen from time to time, but that’s not unique to this location and certainly not something the local staff control. From our perspective, the employees here do their best to keep things organized and provide helpful service.
Running a business that relies on shipping, I appreciate having a reliable local post office with staff that are pleasant to work with. Based on our experience, the low rating here doesn’t reflect the service we’ve received.

On 3/9/2026 my father was handed 35+ letters from DHHS and other bills dated January 2026 and on. I wrote in to USPS to raise concern because he was getting mail all along. Melanie at the Bucksport location called and told me it was because of snow around his mailbox. I asked why he was receiving part of his mail all along then. She stated it was up to the driver and their level of comfort. I told her this was unacceptable and I wanted to speak to her supervisor. She told me no and to call the 1-800-USPS number. I told her I wanted to speak to a supervisor in the office. She said the supervisor was Lisa but was not able to give her phone number out. I asked her to let Lisa know I wanted to discuss this issue with her and she said no, she was unable to tell Lisa that I wanted to talk to upper management, and to call the 1-800-USPS number. Unacceptable, unethical, and simply wrong. I don't even know who the post master is (whether its Melanie, Lisa, or someone else) and I cannot find an answer from anyone. ALSO this issue happened in Orland... I am unsure why Bucksport called me regarding this matter.

I had such a complicated request because a package got misdirected to Maine instead of NY. No fault of the Bucksport post office. I spoke with Rae who said she’d text a supervisor, for location of package, and get back with me. And she got back with me within an hour. The package address was corrected and is on its way to the recipient. Rae was kind, patient, and competent. Thank you so much.
