The letter was returned to me. When I went back to explain what happened to the same worker who accepted it initially, he raised his voice and spoke in a condescending tone, repeating that “the machine only registered your return address” and that “it’s standard to write it at the top.” While I understand the policy, I found the tone and lecture unnecessary. A simple, polite explanation and instruction to repurchase the stamp would have been appreciated.

She said I was the fifth person to arrive and see that the post office was closed. She tried in vain to call the local number on the window, to no avail. There was no sign on the door stating they would close early. What a waste of gas for myself and all the other people hoping to get there before closing time. I guess they get to set their own hours? As you can see in the photos, there is nary a soul to be seen - and it’s not closing time yet. What gives, Woodmoor?
